Freeze Dried Rainbow Crunchies AKA Skittles®

Freeze-dried Rainbow Crunchies (Skittles®) are a unique variation of the popular fruit-flavored candy. The freeze-drying process involves removing the moisture from the Skittles®, resulting in a lightweight and crispy texture while preserving their vibrant colors and fruity flavors.

To create freeze-dried Skittles®, the Skittles are then placed in a vacuum chamber, where the water within the candies sublimates directly from solid to gas without passing through the liquid phase. This process leaves behind a porous and crunchy texture.

The end result is a crunchy and airy version of Skittles® with intense flavor. Freeze-dried Skittles® retain their original colors, making them visually appealing with a rainbow of hues. While the candy shell retains its characteristic crunch, the freeze-drying process transforms the chewy centers into a light and delicate consistency, almost melting in your mouth.
